IonTraining.com is a website for enhancing your creative and technical skills by connecting you to peer-reviewed training centers, instructors, manufacturers and community members who can help you achieve your goals. It is operated by Ion Training, LLC, a privately held company in Seattle, WA, USA. As part of the Ion Training community, you are in control of all your training-related needs, like registering for training courses, training events and posting course feedback. We know you want to remain in control of your personal information as well. A community is only as good as its members, so earning and retaining your trust is of paramount importance and it's a responsibility we take very seriously, every day. This Privacy Policy sets forth our policies regarding the collection, use and protection of the personal information of those using the Ion Training website. What personal information does Ion Training collect from me and how is this information used? When you visit Ion Training you provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us and Web Site use information collected by us as you interact with our Web Site. When you register with Ion Training, you provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, username, email address, skill level, availability for freelance work, city, state and optionally your photo, occupation, interests, website, company, and other data that may change from time to time. When you enter Ion Training, we collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all Ion Training visitors. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser, unless you have selected the "Remember me" checkbox, which keeps the cookie from terminating until you de-select the checkbox. Registering for a Course or Event You do not need to provide any personal information in order to register for a training course or event through our site. All registration details are handled through the third-party training centers, event providers and manufacturers represented on our site. Member Registration If you choose to become a registered member of the Ion Training community, you must provide your name, a unique login name, e-mail address, password and password validation. We collect this information so that we can provide you the service and offer personalized features. Member Profile As an Ion Training member, you can choose to complete your online profile by providing us with your photo, occupation, website, company, location and other optional personal information as added, from time to time. Your name is displayed when you post a Course Review on Ion Training. We may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new Ion Training features and site enhancements. Newsletters Ion Training's monthly newsletter "I'm on ION" and other newsletters are optional benefits you may choose to subscribe to that keep you up-to-date with the latest training courses, deals, events and seminars in your area. Tell-A-Friend If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Ion Training does not store this information after the one-time invitation has been sent. By using Ion Training, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States. With whom (if anyone) will my personal information be shared? We do not share your personal information with any other company. We use non-personally identifiable information in aggregate form to build higher quality, more useful online services by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of our customers and visitors, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of our site. You can also update your personal profile, which is found by following the "Update my Profile" link located under the Edit button, accessible through the "My Profile" tab located on the top navigation bar. These preferences include your photo, contact information and additional information. What safeguards are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information? We use industry standard security measures to protect your information so that it is not made available to unauthorized parties. What other information should I know about my privacy? Ion Training contains links to other web sites, including training centers and shopping sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another web site for which Ion Training has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of all such sites as their policies may be materially different from this Privacy Policy. Of course, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and your Ion Training membership account information.
